Kate DeCoste Photography has been splitting on-location and studio looks through 2009-2010. 2011 is bringing a new approach to the session!
A PORTRAIT SESSION with Kate DeCoste Photography is unlike any session you have had before. Kate's style of portraiture uses natural light (lighting equipment will be brought in, if needed) and familiar surroundings to truly capture a moment in your life. You will not only be preserving your appearance but will be capturing your personalities through Kate's style of relaxed, minimally intervening photography.
Kate will begin with a pre-session consultation by phone or email to discuss the purpose of the session, clothing, locations and your families personality.
The location of your session will be carefully selected to reflect the look and feel you are wanting in your portraits. The session will be unrushed, sometimes lasting up to two hours. This gives your children time to become comfortable with the situation and Kate, as well as time for bathroom breaks and snacks. While Kate DeCoste Photography tends to stay away from traditional posing, be prepared for some direction on where to stand, sit, etc. Backdrops will only be brought in for the maternity and newborn session which will be used minimally.
